  • Overview

    CFA Business Services is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chick-fil-A, Inc. and manages the delivery of shared services to affiliates & subsidiaries. The Accountant II or III for CFA Business Services will perform various accounting & financial tasks for Chick-fil-A’s affiliated businesses. The successful candidate will have a track record of actively identifying & surfacing opportunities for process improvement, ultimately contributing to the long-term health of Chick-fil-A by ensuring that the financial functional support needs of the affiliated businesses are met while optimizing for cost, quality & risk.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain the chart of accounts inside the general ledger, adding and updating accounts based on customer requests
    • Perform recurring monthly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the month-end reporting process
    • Prepare and/or review month-end reporting for completeness & accuracy
    • Perform project accounting (fixed assets): creating & maintaining project account codes, recording project-related transactions & closing / capitalizing projects (fixed assets)
    • Oversee uploads into lease accounting software & reviewing system-generated entries for completeness & accuracy
    • Oversee accounts payable (supplier payment) and accounts receivable (customer billing) processes, investigating discrepancies and resolving errors or exceptions as needed
    • Maintain inventory subledger & review/interpret cost accounting reporting as required
    • Identify and surface opportunities to improve on-going financial processes through standardization or automation
    • Close the general ledger as part of the month-end reporting process
    • Review invoice coding for proper accounting, research discrepancies, and communicate with business unit representatives as appropriate.
    • Oversee continuous improvement efforts to existing services, updating associated process documentation and service enablers as appropriate

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
    • Must pass Chick-fil-A Accounting Test
    • Detail oriented
    • Maintains a “growth mindset”, displaying flexibility and adaptability as the needs & requirements of each affiliated business change
    • Strong customer focus; desires to improve processes in pursuit of operational excellence in service delivery
    • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Familiarity with inventory and cost accounting requirements
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Experience using Oracle Cloud ERP software
