  • Overview

    The Capital Asset Reporting team is entrusted with maintaining accurate financial records for the real estate and equipment assets distributed throughout the chain.  This is a professional role requires an individual be responsible for advanced level Fixed Asset Accounting or Property Tax Compliance in support of Corporate Financial Services.  A Lead Accountant/Team Leader will possess a comprehensive understanding of Chick-fil-A’s acquisition policies and practices, real estate market trends and factors and apply knowledge to support asset valuation, accounting and depreciation.  This role requires relationship with key personnel within Financial Services and develop relationships with stakeholder departments to clarify appropriate expenditure coding for proper asset creation and support complex initiatives.  The Capital Asset Reporting team is looking for an independent, coachable, detailed-oriented, confident individual to fulfill this role.

    Responsibilities

    This role is responsible for key functional areas such as the accounting cycle and systems maintenance.  Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

     

    • Leading team of accountants through the monthly accounting cycle by coordinating all responsibilities of team members
    • Leading team in understanding and development of systems
    • Confirming roles and responsibilities for any 3rd party relationship.
    • Reconcile all general ledger accounts within team’s responsibility
    • Possessing comprehensive understanding of accounting system requirements, work as a liaison with Information Technology and identify opportunities to leverage technology in support of team goals.
    • Operates with considerable latitude for unreviewed actions and recommends business processes and/or system changes
    • Communicate with key stakeholders including restaurant Operators, Business Consultants and Accountants
    • Training of support staff
    • May assist with the selection of vendors
    • May be asked to interview potential staff candidates

    Development activities may include:

    • Department and Team meetings
    • Conferences, Seminars
    • Milestones
    • Lunch & Learns
    • Interdepartmental Engagement 

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Four years of related experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting 
    • Analytical and detailed oriented
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
    • Self-starter and independent
    • Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Graduate Degree 
    • CPA
    • People Lead Experience
