  • Overview

    Position Location: Atlanta, GA or Irvine, CA 

     

    The Sr. Principal Design Lead will lead, direct, and oversee the design, architecture, and engineering project management for new and existing Chick-fil-A restaurants in a 6-8 state region.  This role partners with Real Estate, Development, Construction, Operations, and our local Operators to ensure great design, consistent brand expression, operational effectiveness, and  stewarding our investment into Chick-fil-A restaurants.

    Responsibilities

    • Strategically lead and influence regional, market, and local adaptation of restaurant design for new and existing restaurants (Market level alignment with Operations, Real Estate, Development, and other key stakeholders).
    • Lead, facilitate, and apply expertise and design guidance to regional design partners in developing design intent packages, presentations for local municipalities, design review committees, planning commissions and city councils.
    • Orchestrate and approve all conceptual layouts, seating & décor layouts, back of house operational layouts, and exterior brand expressions.
    • Consult and partner with our regional design partners to ensure compliant design solutions, code interpretations, building code requirements, site requests, municipality, and developer requirements.
    • Provide expertise, guidance, and design administration ensuring completion of design projects and/or outcomes of the highest level of complexity within the regions.
    • Lead, direct, and train Chick-fil-A regional architects, engineers, and consultants on Chick-fil-A brand standards and requirements.
    • Partner in the selection of regional design partners and professionals to effectively deliver regional design strategies, outcomes, and results.
    • Track and ensure all regional design projects for new and reinvestment projects are in alignment with Chick-fil-A regional pipeline schedule.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 10+ years of relevant experience in multi-site & national Retail, Restaurant, or Hospitality Design.

      4 Year Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or other design related field 

    • Proven experience leading and developing external partners and resources (Architectural, MEP, and other partners)
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
    • Self-starter with strong organization and project management.
    • Experience in preparing and presenting projects to internal and external review boards (Senior Leadership, cross-functional teams, Design Review Committees, Planning Commissions and City Councils).
    • Knowledge of building codes and standards and application.
    • Professional license preferred.
