The Sr. Delivery Logistics Product Specialist serves as one of two primary product owners for Chick-fil-A Delivery. This role’s primary focus centers around the Logistics Engine. The Logistics Engine consists of technically complex algorithms designed to assign orders to drivers, provide routing to drivers, calculate ETAs to customers and coordinate the release of food to the kitchen. Success in this role will require the ability to collaborate closely with Customer Technology Solutions to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, this role requires strong business acumen. Success in the role requires the ability to interpret data and understand the broader business context on how to leverage that data to make effective changes. Additionally, this role will also focus on building out and testing new extensions of the delivery business to serve new Customer occasions (e.g., Outposts, Group Ordering).

 

The Chick-fil-A Support Center is launching a new project-based role that is part of the Customer Digital & Delivery Team within the Marketing department. This Project Full-Time role is a TEMPORARY, full-time position up to a maximum of 36 months.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the resident business expert on the Logistics Engine
  • Work closely with Customer Technology Solutions to assess and optimize performance of the Logistics Engine
  • Manage and prioritize the Logistics Engine backlog to ensure the product is meeting the needs of our delivery restaurants
  • Partner with the Delivery Operator Engagement team to refine and develop critical KPIs to help restaurants better manage their delivery business
  • Build and provide tools to Operators to help them better understand their driver capacity and demand needs to help foster growth
  • Identify new concepts and opportunities within the delivery business and prioritize what ideas come to life when testing in the restaurant
  • Conduct market research within the delivery space to stay up to date on market trends and apply those learnings to the delivery business at Chick-fil-A

Minimum Qualifications

  • Comfort with ambiguity, enthusiasm about solving problems, and a desire to be part of a dramatic shift in how Chick-fil-A meets Customer needs
  • Proven work ethic and a desire to learn about a new, complex, and ever-changing part of Chick-fil-A’s business
  • Strong Analytical skill-set: comfortable diving deep into the data behind complex algorithms to help drive future business recommendations
    • Confident taking large amounts of raw data in SQL and writing queries from several sources
    • Strong ability to take raw data and identify trends, patterns and customer insights
    • Comfortable taking the learnings from those insights and creating different visualizations and presentations to share out to stakeholders
    • Comfortable using Tableau to create dashboard visualizations
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated versatility and mental agility: the ability to quickly get up to speed on various disciplines and weave them together into a comprehensive strategy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, having the ability to take complex topics and present them in a clear and concise manner to audiences both large and small
  • Proven self-starter with experience in product management
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners
  • Strong personal conviction; having the confidence to defend an idea or position in the midst of strong opposition

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with, and deep understanding of, restaurant operations
  • 1-3 years of prior experience working in Product Management
  • 1-3 years defining business requirements and using data and metrics to help define business insights
  • 1-3 years work experience in feature prioritization by engaging stakeholders in constructive discussions to simplify ambiguous business problems into logic problems that can be solved with data
  • Comprehensive understanding of on-demand delivery operations and logistics
  • 2-4 years work experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
  • 1-2 years work experience working with machine learning algorithms
  • 2-4 years work experience in mining insights and data to tell compelling business stories
  • 2-4 years of prior experience building reports/analyses with analytical tools (e.g. SQL, Tableau, Excel)
