Site Reliability Engineer Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) best practices.

This role will partner with our agile DevOps teams to drive and deliver SRE best practices on custom built projects from big data to business critical high transaction platforms required for manufacturing and distribution. 

This role requires the ability to develop a thorough understanding of business needs and craft a vision to operate excellent solutions.  This role requires an ambitious activator who is comfortable leading efforts to invest in automating processes and continuously improve designs to maximize resiliency.

As wholly owned subsidiaries of Chick-fil-A, Inc., Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods are food production and distribution services networks focused entirely on serving the unique needs and growing volume of Chick-fil-A restaurants.

The Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods service networks are comprised of three components:

• Distribution Center – State-of-the-art warehouses that house supply for Chick-fil-A restaurants
• Production Facilties – Offsite facilities that prepare select ingredients and menu items for Chick-fil-A restaurants
• Transportation – Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick-fil-A restaurants

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud-based infrastructure and platform using AWS and Kubernetes via Terraform
• Implement SRE best practices to ensure high availability and reliability of our platform
• Collaborate with agile DevOps and engineering teams to optimize application performance and scalability
• Develop and maintain automated deployment and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences
• Continuously improve and update our platforms to stay current with industry trends and best practices
• Lead consultant engineers and provide guidance and mentorship to other team members
• Identify & propose emerging technologies, methodologies and/or approaches

• 6+ years of related professional experience as a Software Engineer/SRE/Platform Engineer
• Experience designing and improving cloud operations capabilities specifically related to automating deployments, monitoring, alerting, and logging
• A deep understanding of security best practices in the cloud and experience implementing them
• Strong Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, SRE, and Terraform
• Experience Mentoring and Leading teams

Note - This opportunity includes both building, deploying, and running solutions that could require off hours support. This support is shared amongst the team members to cover weekends and weeknights.  The goal is to design for failure and automate responses in the cloud to possible issues so they can be worked during normal hours.
