The IT Vendor Management Lead position will support the operations of the IT Sourcing, Procurement and Vendor Management Office (SPVM) reporting to the SPVM Principal Team Leader. They will lead the execution of a comprehensive vendor performance and risk management strategy and framework, including the development and management of processes, tools and reporting to actively manage third-party performance and risk across the IT organization. They will collaborate with IT technology owners, legal and corporate procurement to gather risk parameters, performance metrics, conduct industry research for benchmarking vendor metrics, manage vendor contracts, evaluate financial reporting, and coordinate performance and risk management activities.

  • Mature the measurement and reporting of vendor performance, including the development of evaluation tools based on user requirements, and the creation of scorecards and dashboards that will accurately present this data.
  • Ensure metrics used to evaluate performance are properly tied to business outcomes, and associated communications are clear.
  • Maintain vendor risk assessments or risk registers in cooperation with risk, privacy, business continuity and security teams.
  • Manage and maintain a vendor risk performance technology solution, keeping the data healthy, transparent and trustworthy.
  • Partner with other areas of the business (procurement, finance, legal, digital compliance) to track and report on vendor financial viability, business continuity, and corporate and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continued advancement of the Vendor Management Framework.
  • Assist with the oversight of vendor audits where required.
  • Conduct research on relevant industries, vendors, and risk trends.
  • Maintain a repository of vendors in a vendor relationship management database to track key dates (expirations, renewals), vendor spending and assess trends within the vendor ecosystem.
  • Assist SPVM to identify opportunities for vendor rationalization and cost optimization.
  • Consult with IT staff on vendor management best practices and processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ Experience in Vendor management, Operational or Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit, Corporate Procurement or Contracts management.
  • Knowledge of indirect procurement processes and policies, and related trends crossing all technology tiers (hardware, software, services, data/analytics, telecom, etc.).
  • Expertise in data analytics and navigating data set and creating reporting.
  • Applies a strategic mindset to work. 
  • Running vendor governance and performance monitoring meetings focused on contractual compliance and quality of delivery services.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of legal, compliance, and privacy/security, with the ability to provide recommendations.
  • Ability to gain trust, build relationships and support of external partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of an organization (verbal and written).
  • High degree of comfort with business and technology language.
  • Ownership mentality with a deep sense of accountability over results.
