Enterprise Business Architect

Enterprise Architecture needs to add another game-changer to our team to help us grow our technology capabilities in our Restaurants. This role will be a balance of providing business architecture thought leadership and high-level solution design guidance to several Digital Technology teams. 
 
The Enterprise Architecture team is responsible for ensuring that Chick-fil-A’s technology strategy and capabilities enable business outcomes to be successful. We work with technology and business leaders to set strategic direction, and we work with software engineering teams to help them with hard engineering problems. We look to maximize freedom and autonomy for our engineering teams, but also provide standards and principles to help ensure that engineering teams are aligned across the organization.

In this role, we'll need your thought leadership in the following areas:
 

• Restaurant Operator-Facing Technologies
• Partner with business and technology leaders to develop strategies and solutions for Chick-fil-A’s Operators and their teams that increase capacity, reduce complexity, and establish a fluid experience for the great people running our restaurants.
• Assist teams in understanding, explaining, and prioritizing their work within the broader business and technology contexts at Chick-fil-A.
• Listen, learn, and cast a vision to guide teams’ work so that it aligns with Chick-fil-A’s strategic Digital principles and goals

Enterprise Business Architecture Practice:

• Contribute to Chick-fil-A’s Technology strategy, principles, standards, and best practices
• Work with other Enterprise Architects to help drive overlapping strategies across business areas
• Work with functional teams to enable a composable enterprise by leading them in the identification of business capabilities and the design of technical applications and interfaces that deliver those capabilities
• Develop strategic roadmaps in partnership with business and technology leaders
  See and shape the future of strategic business initiatives
• Mentor and develop others within the Digital Transformation and Technology department
• Build external alliances with industry experts

• Proven track record of analyzing and decomposing business and technical needs at the macro-level, and translating into a digital plan/roadmap
• Skilled at understanding business requirements and engineering direction while applying our higher-level technology principles to ensure end solutions fulfill both tactical and strategic goals
• Able to lead teams to the appropriate course of action by influencing up, down and beside you while leaving those you work with feeling positive and cared for
• Able to identify industry trends and effectively influence organizational direction
• Solid understanding of high-level, decoupled architectural designs using APIs and messaging patterns to enable orchestrated solutions
• Comfortable effectively communicating complex ideas in simple and clear ways with software engineers, business analysts, product owners/managers and business leaders

• Background in software engineering or technical product management with cloud technologies
• Business Architecture experience applied to establish alignment between business and digital teams for technology initiatives
• Experience in context building methods such as: Domain modeling, context diagramming, flow diagramming, sequence diagramming, business capability identification, business capability mapping, journey mapping
• Experience evaluating and influencing software vendors and their technology roadmaps
