Overview

The Restaurant Financial Data and Systems team provides Operators and those who serve them with tools, reports, and systems that equip Restaurants for profitable growth. We do this by building robust data infrastructure, maximizing the effectiveness of our systems portfolio, and offering users relevant and timely insights about their business. The individual in this role will be responsible for leading the full product management lifecycle of a Restaurant profitability business intelligence system and its suite of reporting insights - serving as SME for this system and leading related analyses.

 

Lead Analysts on the team are responsible for sustaining a high degree of analytical competence and project leadership as they partner with Restaurant Operators, cross-functional staff teams and external vendors. They maintain a high level of subject matter expertise for a particular system and are considered data & process owners within the organization. Lead Analysts are responsible for both proactive and responsive analysis, project planning, executing project details, and collaborating with others. They will develop comprehensive knowledge of 1-3 systems to build a robust data infrastructure - serving as a subject matter expert for the business and providing strategic direction for the supporting technology roadmap. He or she will also be responsible for recommending and ensuring deployment of changes to those systems to impacted Operators and Staff, by creating and ensuring execution of the project plan, communicating key details, escalating issues, and responding to results. They leverage their deep knowledge and expertise to advise stakeholders, make strategic recommendations and influence both proactive and responsive direction.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject-matter expert and/or business owner for chainwide, Operator-focused systems or datasets of significant scope and complexity
  • Generate advanced analytical insights, make recommendations about the tools and systems that consume the data, and communicate findings to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Lead larger Restaurant and Field-Staff facing projects by recommending and deploying changes, creating, and ensuring execution of the project plan, recommending necessary changes to project budget or resources, communicating key details and escalating issues, and adjusting based on results
  • Work with technology partners to build business intelligence systems and serve as the thought leader responsible for solving complex questions
  • Participate in roadmap development; make recommendations about future system and data infrastructure needs based on a broad business perspective
  • Serve as designated point of contact for data use and reporting questions
  • Collaborate to ensure alignment and that desired outcomes are achieved for different projects, including facilitation of cross-functional councils and stakeholder groups
  • Occasionally participate or co-lead innovation/ideation sessions to consider all options and seek diverse input into future changes
  • Communicate project risks and benefits, progress, and updates to a variety of audiences via written, visual and verbal presentations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving experience paired with verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams and independently
  • Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience writing and interpreting SQL
  • Proficiency with Tableau or another data visualization tool
  • Experience building automated and scalable analytical solutions
  • Strong systems-thinking mindset, able to understand intricate details and how they relate to each other in the broader scope of a system
  • Self-starter who sees needs and proactively seeks solutions, exhibits a personal desire for excellence, eagerness to learn and a process improvement mindset
  • Servant spirit with strong sense of stewardship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Alteryx, or another data transformation tool
  • Product lead/management experience
  • Experience Chick-fil-A Restaurant experience or experience working in retail, hospitality, or QSR industries

  • Experience with managerial accounting or financial modeling

  • Experience with Scrum or other Agile methodology

  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence)

 

One or multiple of the following:

  • Certified Financial Analyst (CFA)
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP)
  • Alteryx Designer Advanced
  • Tableau Data Analyst Certification
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
